In Latin class at Nativity of Our Lord, it is our objective to provide students with a basic understanding of the language of Latin, an appreciation of the culture of the ancient world, and an enhancement of their command of the English language.

The textbook used is Longman Latin I and II, Combined.

The course of study of Latin has been considered of the highest academic value in western civilization for many years. We here at Nativity of Our Lord strive to continue that great tradition and to introduce, as well, new strategies, such as student Power Point projects on Mythology and Ancient History, examples of which soon will be able to be viewed on this web site.

The Chinese language curriculum at Nativity is designed based on Chinese Paradise and related to Chinese culture instructions. The Chinese Paradise has been well tested by Teach Chinese as Foreign Language (CFL) teachers and has earned a good reputation in the United States for teaching Chinese as foreign language.

It focuses on attracting beginners’ interest to Chinese language learning through experimental activities. Chinese culture instruction such as Chinese traditional festivals, arts, crafts and games children play in China will help students imagine life in China and have a better understanding for Chinese people. Furthermore, it will increase their interest in learning about China.
