Basic Paul: Who was this famed author whose letters we read most Sundays? Dr. Terrence Callan, a Pauline expert from the
Athenaeum, will be with us on Thursday, November 7th in the
Parish Office basement to lead our study of St. Paul. This is in keeping with the Year of St. Paul as proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI. Please call the Parish Office to pre-register at 531-3164.

The Year of St. Paul: Pope Benedict XVI has proclaimed 2008-2009 “The Year of St. Paul,” in honor of the apostle’s 2000th birthday.

Check it out at www.catholiccincinnati.org/oec/

stpaul.htm

This began on the Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul, June 29, 2008 and will run through June 29, 2009. There will be an adult education series in the fall at Nativity on “Basic Paul,” about Paul’s life and writings featuring Dr. Terry Callan, a Pauline expert from the Athenaeum. Holy cards of St. Paul are in the racks near the front doors of church to remind us at home that this is the year of Paul. One way to begin this holy year is to read through 1Thessalonians, the oldest letter of Paul and the oldest “book” in the New Testament (49 A.D.) The Office of Evangelization and Catechesis has put together a web page that has some resource lists and links that can be used by catechists to celebrate the year.  This is a working page, so if there are links you think should be added, please e-mail jpierron@catholiccincinnati.org

The Choirs of Nativity are seeking players and singers for all Masses. We are especially seeking persons for Advent and Christmas seasons.  Please contact the Parish Office 531-3164 or any choir member.

A Fun Opportunity!

We are working on revitalizing our “Welcome Sunday” program and we need your help. If you would be interested in joining some of your fellow parishioners as we plan and prepare for “Welcome Sunday” after the 9 and 11 Masses on the first Sunday of each month (most months), we would love to have you. You can help once a month or a few times a year…whatever fits best with your schedule. For more information, or to sign-up, please call Pat Smith at 731-9790.

Lay Pastoral Ministry Program

For over thirty-two years, the Lay Pastoral Ministry Program (LPMP) has offered lay men and women the opportunity for theological, spiritual, pastoral and personal growth. Over 650 LPMP graduates serve the people of God throughout the archdiocese as catechists, RCIA team members, permanent deacons, directors of religious education, youth ministers, high school religion teachers, chaplains and parish volunteers. They bring their expertise to a variety of non-profit agencies and offer an added dimension of spiritual leadership to their neighborhood or workplace. We are currently recruiting students for the fall 2007 program. If interested, please call 231-1200 for further information.

Atrium Registration: Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is religious formation that takes place in the Atrium (a specially prepared room in the basement of the Parish Center). We sent letters describing this program to registered families with children ages 3 to 6. The Parish Office has extra copies of the letter and registration forms if you need one.

Atrium Level II: The joyful response of 3-6 year olds in the level I Atrium for the past two years is the reason that we are ready to add a level II Atrium for 6-9 years olds. Their love of the Good Shepherd and following him always leads to new experiences. Level II continues with reflection on God’s gifts and begins to awaken children’s personal responses. Atrium II sessions will be held Thursday afternoons from 3:45 to 5:15 pm. To register your child or for more information please contact one of the following: Anne Ramsay (841-0615), Mary Lennard (531-7572), or Tim Cronin at the Parish Office at 531-3164.

Discover St. Ann’s…Nativity’s longest standing organization

Have you heard of St. Ann’s, but don’t really know what the group does? Are you looking for a low-key service group whose members pray together and serve those with needs in the parish and throughout our neighborhood community? Meet St. Ann’s Altar Society! Our mission is to be as Christ to others through our support of our neighbors in the local nursing home, and other outreach ministries helping those that are in need. We also, provide speakers and presentations to feed the spiritual growth needs of our members. Just last week we prayed the rosary together and invited the 3rd graders so we could help pass on faith traditions. (Just as St. Ann did for her daughter…our Mother Mary.) If you would like to share a little of yourself and grow in faith with others, consider joining St. Ann’s! Women of all faiths are welcome with open arms. If you have any questions, please call Meg Muething at 351-9819.
